IN ANSWER TO THE CHOICE, WROTE BY A YOUNG LADY, IN YOUR
PAPER OF NO 124. WROTE BY A YOUNG MAN.
When I behold the choice you make,
Wherein you do refuse
The fickle beau, and noisy rake,
Yes skill the dancer choose.
. . . [18 lines, then]
Th' illit'rate, vulgar, dancing crews,
With rakes are ever mated.
The man of learning, truth and love,
I ever should adore;
And prize the wise man far above
The rake and dancing boor.
